WCARC Board Meeting at Ball’s

Attendees: Al Acker, Bob Nickels (also representing June), Larry Ball, Jim Lucas, Bill LeBaron

Including June’s proxy, we had a quorum.

Al will try to email all Board members: Al Acker, Bob Nickels, June Nickels, Larry Ball, Jim Lucas, plus the other two trustees. Editor, Elmer Bailey should also be notified.

Bob mentioned that the TMAR repeater (145.205MHz) is at Eldon Vore’s house.  This unit was purchased from Bob Kirner.

Sunday Night net:  Change format? Change time?  No recommendations made.  Could have a topic for discussion each session, e.g. “When do you monitor the radio?”

GOAL – Al would like to create a call-out system for Club/ARES responses.  We can use the new email links, then phone calls, then radio alerts (so members should monitor regularly).

Al handed out a print-out of five public events over the next 8 months, and for which he is arranging ham radio support.

Larry Ball has obtained 3 new PO Box keys: One for Secretary, One for Treasurer, One spare (in Secretary’s files)  He will file a new Form 1093 giving current key holders.   

Al has an appointment with a CAP officer to discuss their charges to us, and our service to them.  

TMAR has $157.44 to donate to a charity.  WCARC board suggests donating to the Club.  Larry will pole current remaining TMAR Board members for concurrence. *

February School Event – At Loma School .  Present plan is for WCARC members to operate a station at the school during lunch hours for the weekdays, 2^nd week of February. 

It was agreed that we stimulate some interest in Amateur TV.  Also that we need to develop a few back-up programs to fill in for monthly meetings if needed.

*(1/14/02) The remaining TMAR officers are Eldon Vore, President, June Nickels, Secretary, Jerry Jordan and Bruce Marshall, Members At Large.  At Larry’s request, Eldon polled the officers and the feeling was unanimous to donate the money to the WCARC.  June provided the TMAR check book with one check signed by Jean Vore, Larry will co-sign for TMAR so that the account can be closed.
