Minutes  of the Western Colorado Amateur Radio Club General Meeting, March 8, 2008

 

The meeting was called to order at 9:30AM by the President, Bill Eads, K0SSI

Present were: mor, rbj, ssi, yx, rsx, pgp, fcc, kd0coi, asc, fck, ler, wrk, czc, uk, vrr, f, yd, qvs, nl, tfj

 

Discussion:

Adding the 145.175 repeater to the ARRL Insured list,it was moved to approve by NL, 2nd by  FCK, MOR is to follow up on this.

Status of the 501C3 application, MOR reported that more data has to be resolved. A discussion as to why we really need this if we don’t require many, if any tax exemptions. It was resolved that it is needed for grant applications. All agreed to continue with a application when ready.

The president asked if we wanted Fox Hunts and all agreed we should do this when the weather warms.

The president asked if we will continue with the I-70 Highway Cleanup from markers 15 to 13. The response was limited. Bill said we have to decide by the April meeting or tell the state we cannot do it.

A future  APRS program by Chuck, N0NHJ should be looked into, MOR to ask Chuck Bill also told us about a new APRS URL, APRS.FI/.   Also there will be a program on Amateur Radio Micro Wave in the near future. Bill also asked what kind of programs the club wants. Everyone was asked to give this some thought and report their feelings and ideas. Possibly another antenna program by Steve, K0SX.

The March program was presented by Dennis AA0YZ on contesting logging with a computer. Dennis presented a very informative and interesting program on the use of “Rite Log” versus other logging programs.

Dues were paid by Aldis Strautins,N0TFJ and Julius King, KC0DVM.

Dues outstanding are: Bill Oliver KD0BAI, Flo Naylor KD6BIZ, Steve Wisniewski AC0BE, Gary Smith KC0IBC, Carol Roberts N0PRI, Jayson Leyh KC0URJ, Gene Mitchell KC0UZX, Charles West KG0V, and Kendall Kreiling N8ZK.

The 50/50 drawing of $8.50 was won by KC0RBJ
