the Western Colorado Amateur Radio Club, April/12/2008
The meeting was called to order at 9:33 AM by Pres. Bill Eads, K0SSI.
Present
were: MOR, NL, SSI, FCK, LER, KMR, TD, QVS, FCC, ASC, MTK, KD0COI, TFJ, VRR,
WRK, F, CMR, DGO and
Bill opened the meeting with a explanation of things said in the past regarding RACES and ARES.
The post of ARES EC is up for election and Bill asked if we would contact K0HBZ@ARRL.net with our desires.
The minutes having been sent along with the April Meeting notice were approved,

The treasurers report was read and approved, moved by DGO and 2nd by FCK
Tom Dennis advised us that Interstate Batteries was in a complex next to his and substantial discounts were available on all products.
A short discussion followed regarding should we file a 1099 with the IRS. Since we are not a 501C3 it was decided we didn’t have to file, all present agreed.

was decided to be designated as Highway Cleanup Day, moved by KMR 2nd

We are to meet at the north side of the LOMA EXIT on I-70 at 10:00. There is a small parking area there. Our cleanup area is both sides of the Interstate mile marker 15 to 13. We will need a minimum of eight (8) members to do the job. MOR will bring the vests and bags.
We will discuss Field Day on May 10th.
A program on Fox Hunt Antennas and “The Myths of SWR” was presented by Jack KD0NL
The 50/50 drawing was won by N0FCK
The meeting adjourned at 11:30AM
The Annual I-70 high Way cleanup took place on Saturday May 3rd.
Those that donated their time and efforts were: W2DGO, K0COI, K0UK, KD0NL, N0LER, KA0F,
N0MOR, KC0KMR, N0FCK, KB0COI, and AB0YD. Time spent out there was 3 hours and the road
Looks a lot better for the effort.
Our grateful thanks to all those that took time on a busy Saturday to donate their time and effort.
